Tensilica: Workshop on
Building a Processor
Tensilica will give you an
opportunity for a hands-on demonstration of building a processor that is
optimized for low area, low power, and high performance. We will show how
such a processor can be built by configuring and extending an Xtensa
configurable processor. We’ll
demonstrate how to profile an application for to find performance hot spots
and then how you can optimize a Tensilica Xtensa configurable processor to
accelerate the application. You’ll see how to test different configuration
options and how to write new instructions to build a task optimized Xtensa
processor.

RealView® tools portfolio to design, optimize and validate their SoCs in a
virtual environment, and how software design engineers can develop, debug
and optimize their code on system models prior to silicon being available.
We will also demonstrate how OEM's can deliver high performance instruction
accurate virtual platform models of their system to their ISV communities
ahead of availability of the actual hardware platform.
