What is nanotechnology? What is molecular manufacturing? Nanotechnology is the creation of functional materials, devices, and systems through control of matter (atoms) on the nanometer length scale (1–100 nanometers) and much more.  (Note: 10 nanometers is 1000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair). Making sense of nanotechnology requires a wide and open perspective. Current nanotechnology activities are remarkably diverse in their techniques and purposes.
